Aura C currently has noticeable audio delay
The actual delay varies depending on the phone, operating system, app version, and listening device. It may be especially noticeable when watching videos, following live speech, or hearing the venue’s wired loudspeakers at the same time.
Why does this happen?
Audio passes through several stages before you hear it:
Phone and app processing currently contribute a significant part of the delay. Bluetooth headphones or hearing aids may add further latency.
We’re working on an improvement
Our engineering team is working to reduce the delay caused by phone and app processing. We expect the evaluation and optimization work to take approximately one month.
The final improvement and release timing will depend on testing results, so we cannot yet guarantee a specific latency or release date.
Tips for use in venues
- If possible, choose a seat farther away from nearby wired loudspeakers or use a quieter assistive-listening area. This may make the venue speaker sound less noticeable, but it will not eliminate Aura C’s processing delay.
- Where practical and without affecting venue coverage or safety, venue operators may reduce the volume of nearby wired loudspeakers. This can reduce the echo or “double sound” heard when both audio paths are audible.
- If close synchronization with live sound, speech, or video is essential, the current version of Aura C may not be suitable for that use case.
